Carlos Santos joined the Dixcart Group in 2008 and was appointed a Director of Dixcart Portugal at the beginning of 2014.
In 2020 he was appointed Managing Director of the Dixcart Portugal office and continues to be responsible for the expansion of the office as well overseeing the existing client base and client management.
Having obtained his Law Degree from the University of Lisbon, he worked for Ernst & Young’s Lisbon office as an International Tax Consultant.
He has two post graduate qualifications, both in International Tax Law, as well as an Executive MBA in International Corporate Management. In 2019 Carlos obtained his LL.M in International Business Law from Católica Global School of Law. He is also a member of the Portuguese Bar Association, International Fiscal Association and the Transnational Tax Network.
Carlos Santos coordinates the business development activities for the Portugal office, which includes the identification of target markets and the structuring of corporate and tax efficient solutions for clients. In addition, Carlos coordinates the department undertaking ship and yacht registration in Madeira; an initiative which has opened up new markets for Dixcart and our clients.
He established the Family Office line of service in Portugal which is focused in immigration and personal taxation of clients and their families. He, therefore, coordinates an extensive portfolio of international clients and in the last few years has developed marketing plans for Portugal’s Non-Habitual Resident and the Portuguese Golden Visa programmes, in order to provide the best solution for each client.
Recently, Carlos has been heavily involved in helping clients in setting up Venture Capital Funds in Portugal specially designed for Golden Visa applicants. Dixcart was the first to advise Clients in this new form of investment in Portugal.
Carlos is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars on a variety of topics including Portuguese residence and frequently travels to a number of countries around the world, particularly; Brazil, Colombia, Miami in the USA, and Turkey.
